Stolen Panchaloha Garuda Statue Recovered

Police said the statue weighs around 15-20 kg and is valued at approximately Rs 30,000.

Adilabad: Police in Thangallapalli recovered a Panchaloha Garuda statue stolen from the Yagashala of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Thangallapalli village of Rajanna Sircilla district on January 22, 2026.

The accused, identified as Chaithanya Manikanta, was arrested. During investigation, he confessed to stealing the statue along with his friends. The idol was recovered from a location near his house in Thelukunta Indranagar (Agraharam) in Vemulawada mandal.

Police said the statue weighs around 15-20 kg and is valued at approximately Rs 30,000.

DSP Nagendrachari appealed to residents to remain vigilant about the movement of unknown persons and ensure the safety of religious places. He urged people to inform police about any suspicious activity.

Senior officials commended Thangallapalli SI Upendra Chari, ASI John, and head constables Tirupati and Sampath for swiftly arresting the accused and recovering the stolen idol.
