State Revises Autorickshaw Fares

Passengers travelling between 11 pm and 5 am will pay one‑and‑a‑half times the normal fare.

HYDERABAD: The state government has revised autorickshaw fares across Telangana, fixing the minimum fare at ₹30 for the first 1.6 km.

The Transport, Roads and Buildings Department issued the GO on Friday, stating that ₹14 would be charged for every subsequent kilometre. Detention charges, when the vehicle remains stationary, are capped at ₹0.75 per minute.

Passengers travelling between 11 pm and 5 am will pay one‑and‑a‑half times the normal fare. A luggage charge of 50 paise per package, excluding briefcases and handbags, is permitted up to 100 kg.

Digital auto meters will be reset to record the revised tariff. The minimum fare of ₹30 will appear when the journey begins, increasing at the prescribed rate after 1.6 km.

The revised fares apply to autorickshaws registered and operating in Telangana. The transport commissioner has three months to allow existing meters to be reset. During this period, autos must display approved tariff cards showing both existing and revised fares.
