State Govt To Takeover Hyd Metro By March 2026

The Chief Secretary emphasised that the transfer must be carried out smoothly and expeditiously over the next 100 days. He asked L&T to extend its full cooperation in the process: Reports

HYDERABAD: The state government will complete its proposed takeover of the Hyderabad Metro Rail from the L&T Group by March. The deadline was agreed to on Tuesday during a meeting between government officials led by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and L&T officials led by L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited MD K.V.B. Reddy.

The Chief Secretary emphasised that the transfer must be carried out smoothly and expeditiously over the next 100 days. He asked L&T to extend its full cooperation in the process.

IDBI Bank, which is advising on the transaction, was asked to finalise its report at the earliest to facilitate the completion of the takeover.

Following the takeover, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) managing director Sarfaraz Ahmad will prepare proposals related to operations and maintenance.
