State Govt To Present YSR Awards To Progressive Farmers: Bhatti

Bhatti said YSR would be remembered every day

Hyderabad, July 8: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced that the state government was considering instituting awards for progressive farmers (adharsha raithulu) in memory of the late Chief Minister Dr Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy. A foundation will be established in Rajashekar Reddy’s name to organise and implement programmes, he said.

On the occasion of the late Chief Minister’s birth anniversary on Tuesday, Bhatti paid floral tributes at his statue located at Banjara Hills. Later, speaking to the media, he elaborated on the plans.
He said that by the death anniversary of Rajashekar Reddy on September 2, a comprehensive programme will be designed to recognise individuals who are experts in the field of agriculture, researchers working in the agricultural domain and those who are contributing to the development of the sector in this region.

Bhatti said YSR would be remembered every day and that his vision would be carried forward. He said that when people think of Rajashekar Reddy, agriculture and irrigation projects would come to the mind first. He called the late CM a visionary behind constructing irrigation projects to divert the waters of the two life-giving rivers (Godavari and Krishna) into farmlands.
