State Government Announces Several Measures Concerning Singareni Employees
Telangana government directed SCCL to expedite dependent employment, housing, medical and welfare measures for Singareni employees.

The state government has directed SCCL to complete the 250–300 pending dependent persons’ employment orders within 15 days and adopt a humane approach in around 136–170 cases involving changes in the names of dependants. Monthly medical boards will be conducted at all area hospitals to speed up medical invalidation procedures.
The direction came during a review meeting between the government and SCCL here on Tuesday. Workers dismissed for failing to attend duties during the Covid-19 period may be given a one-time opportunity for reinstatement. Officials involved in strike-related cases may receive minor warnings.
The government also ordered the speedy distribution of house-site pattas for the remaining 1,250 acres under GO 76. SCCL would identify unused land for Nehru Housing Colonies and replace dilapidated D-Type quarters with new housing, according to a statement.
Other measures include upgrading SCCL hospitals with specialist and emergency facilities, conducting free cancer screenings in mining-area villages, installing solar panels and RO plants in government institutions, and ensuring biannual distribution of safety kits.
The decisions also included establishing an agricultural research station in Bhupalpally, setting up a thermal power plant at Ramagundam, extending CSR support to junior colleges, and modernising all Singareni colonies with improved drainage, sanitation, electrification, drinking water and sewage systems.
