State Gets Its Second Woman Officer To Head Forest Department

Dr Suvarna was a few days ago given the full additional charge of the PCCF (Hoff) post

Hyderabad: Telangana on Friday got its second woman officer to head the forest department as Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (head of forest force, HOFF) with the government appointing Dr C. Suvarna, a 1991 batch Indian Forest Service officer, to the post.

The forest department, after the state police, is the second largest uniformed force in the state. The first woman officer to be appointed as PCCF (HoFF) was R. Shobha in 2019, who served in the post for three years till 2022.

Dr Suvarna, who was a few days ago given the full additional charge of the PCCF (Hoff) post, received the orders appointing her full-time in the position on Friday. She was previously the PCCF, compensatory afforestation fund management and planning authority (CAMPA).
