St. Joseph’s Celebrates Fête De Noël With Fervour

The celebration brought together students, faculty and alumni for a day that blended spiritual reflection with creative expression under the theme of joy, hope and community sharing

Hyderabad: St. Joseph’s Degree & PG College organised its annual Christmas fest, Fête De Noël 2025, transforming the campus into a vibrant space of prayer, performance and participatory student events led by the Anno Domini team. The celebration brought together students, faculty and alumni for a day that blended spiritual reflection with creative expression under the theme of joy, hope and community sharing.

Voices from the leadership The Chief Guest, Fr. P. Gnana Reddy, Principal of St. Mary’s Centenary Junior College, lauded the initiative for nurturing value-based leadership among youth. “In a world wired by speed, festivals like Fête De Noël gently remind young people to slow down, listen to the good news of
Christ’s birth and rediscover the joy of giving,” he said, commending the students for their enthusiastic participation.
Vice Chairman – HAES and Correspondent Msgr. Y. Balashowry highlighted the inclusive and collaborative spirit behind the fest. “Every choir that sings, every card that is crafted and every game that is played on this campus today is a small seed of peace and solidarity we are sowing in our city,” he remarked, appreciating the efforts of staff coordinators and volunteers.
College Principal Rev. Fr. Anthony Sagayaraja underlined the academic institution’s commitment to holistic formation through such campus-wide celebrations. “Fête De Noël is not just a festival on our calendar; it is a re-living fellowship where our students learn teamwork, creativity, responsibility and faith in action,” he observed, congratulating the Anno Domini core team and convenors for curating a meticulously-planned programme.
Solemn inauguration and cultural highlights
The day began with a formal inauguration at 10:00 a.m., anchored by Grace and Jousha, featuring a prayer song and welcome dance that set a reverent yet festive tone. The programme included the lighting of the Christmas candle by dignitaries, a Bible reading by Br. Calvin and a welcome address by Principal Rev. Fr. Anthony Sagayaraja, followed by a special profile of the Chief Guest.
Principal Fr. P. Gnana Reddy delivered the Christmas message, reflecting on the “joy of living by faith” that also framed the campus skit performed by the Theatre Arts unit. Cultural students presented group dances, including a Hindi gospel performance, and the Anno Domini choir led a sequence of carols that drew enthusiastic response from the audience.
