SSC: Samudrala Advaitha Among Toppers, Scores 595 Marks

After checking their SSC results, students began screaming out. Several of them gathered in small groups to celebrate, burst crackers and click photos with their teachers

Hyderabad: An air of high expectation had hung around the school buildings across the city for hours on Wednesday in anticipation of release of the SSC results. By late afternoon, the mood changed dramatically.

After checking their SSC results, students began screaming out. Several of them gathered in small groups to celebrate, burst crackers and click photos with their teachers.

The results, initially expected to be declared by chief minister Revanth Reddy at 1pm, were released only around 2.15pm. Students were able to access them after 2.30 pm after an anxious wait.

Among the top scorers were Sirpa Kriti from Nizamabad and Nimma Anchitha from Kamareddy, both securing an impressive 596 marks each. Samudrala Advaitha, a student of Kakatiya High School in Nizamabad, scored 595 marks, which placed her among the highest scorers in the state as well.

She scored 100 marks in both First Language and Mathematics, and 99 in all other subjects except Social Studies, in which she got 98.

At Kakatiya High School, Ramnagar, students were seen bursting crackers. All its 35 students have passed the exams and 17 of them crossed the 550 mark. Principal Ramaraju Balwant Rao beamed, “We are happy with the overall performance. Most got 99 in Mathematics, and some managed to get 98 or 99 in languages too. We hoped someone would cross 590, but this is still very good.”

Physics teacher Sreelakshmi, who stood with her students during their celebrations, admitted that converting marks into CGPA had left many students confused. “Some got 10 points, others 8 or 9, but when we looked at their raw scores, we couldn’t figure out how exactly the grades were assigned,” she said.

“It was very competitive this year and a bit difficult to assess.”

Among those celebrating outside the school was Alekhya, who got 541. She expected 571 marks, but her Social Studies and Science marks were lower. “Still, I’m happy. I want to become a Chartered Accountant, so this is the first step,” she crooned.

The wait before the results, she added, was the hardest part. “We couldn’t access anything for an hour and a half. I was anxious the whole time.”

Parents too lingered near school gates after the announcement, some sharing sweets, others were just grateful it was all over. “We were more anxious than our kids,” said a mother waiting outside Kakatiya High School.
