Sridhar Babu: Telangana to Back Rural Talent

From Fields to Futures: Manthani’s Development Drive

Karimnagar: IT and industries minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said the state government would extend full support to new innovations and take steps to nurture and showcase the hidden talent in rural areas. The minister inaugurated and participated in several development activities during his visit to Manthani constituency in Peddapalli district on Wednesday, focusing on education, infrastructure, agriculture, and rural innovation.

As part of his visit, the minister laid the foundation stone for new additional classrooms and repair works worth Rs 3.43 crore under DMFT funds, inaugurated a synthetic shuttle court built at a cost of Rs 44 lakh, and participated in the housewarming ceremony of 40 houses completed under the Indiramma Housing Scheme pilot project, out of the 228 houses sanctioned.

Later, minister Sridhar Babu, along with district collector Koya Sri Harsha, unveiled the book ‘Mindset Maker’ and distributed English-to-Telugu books on modern technology to 100 students at the ‘Dream, Start, Rise’ office, which operates under the aegis of T-Works.

Encouraging students to emulate the vision of former president Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the minister urged them to dream big and work hard to achieve those dreams. He expressed happiness over the innovative spirit of local youth in Manthani, citing examples such as the development of a power feeder for agriculture and a modern safety helmet.

He noted that the ‘Dream, Start, Rise’ initiative was established in Manthani under T-Works to encourage such innovators. The government, he said, is implementing special programmes through the initiative in 20 schools across Peddapalli district. The minister also instructed the collector to arrange a study visit to T-Works, Hyderabad, for students actively participating in the programme.

Later, the minister inaugurated a paddy procurement centre established by the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS) at Pochamma Wada.

Addressing farmers, Minister Sridhar Babu assured that all measures have been taken to prevent weighing-related issues and that paddy payments will be credited directly to farmers’ bank accounts within 48 hours of procurement.
