Sridhar Babu Orders Probe into Ramanthapur Electrocution Incident
The Minister announced a compensation of Rs.5 lakh each to the bereaved family members

Hyderabad: Minister for IT and Industries, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, has expressed shock over the tragic incident that occurred during the Sri Krishna Janmashtami Shobhayatra at Gokul Nagar, Ramanthapur, under Uppal Police Station limits, claiming the lives of five persons.
Instructions have been issued for a detailed inquiry under the supervision of the District Collector. Strict action will be taken against those found responsible after the inquiry report is submitted.
In a statement issued here on Monday, Sridhar Babu, who is also the in-charge Minister for the erstwhile Ranga Reddy district, described the loss of five lives and injuries to several others as extremely unfortunate. Conveying his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, he assured that the State government would extend all possible support to them.
Announcing that an ex-gratia of Rs.5 lakh will be provided to each of the bereaved families, the Minister said the entire medical expenses of the injured will be borne by the State government.
“It is all the more distressing that the mishap occurred when the Shobha yatra was just 100 meters from its conclusion. Preliminary reports suggest that the accident was caused due to live current passing through a cable wire,” he said.
A special drive has been ordered across Greater Hyderabad to review and address the risks posed by hanging cable and electric wires.
Sridhar Babu instructed officials to ensure that such tragic incidents do not recur and to pay special attention to safety standards during public gatherings. He also ordered that the injured be provided with the best possible medical care and sought a detailed report on their health condition.
Later, Sridhar Babu visited Gandhi Hospital and consoled the bereaved families of the victims.
