HYDERABAD: IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu inaugurated the expanded Global Innovation Centre of UK-based eAppSys in Hyderabad, projecting the city’s growing role as a major global technology and innovation hub. He noted that the number of unicorn startups in Hyderabad has surged from three to between 30 and 40, and reaffirmed the government’s goal of making Telangana a leader in software product exports.
Emphasising the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Sridhar Babu announced plans to establish an AI University offering comprehensive courses for students and professionals.
eAppSys, an Oracle partner and IT services provider, plans to increase its Hyderabad workforce from 200 to over 500 within two years. The expanded centre features a 400-seat facility with advanced innovation pods and hybrid workspaces, designed to support Oracle Cloud, ERP, AI and enterprise transformation services for APAC, EMEA and North America.
Company chairman Praveen Reddy Baddam called the facility a key milestone in enhancing global client support and leading technology transformation initiatives. The company will create hundreds of high-skilled jobs, including Oracle Cloud consultants, AI/ML engineers and solution architects, alongside upskilling programmes to develop local talent.
Operating globally with a leadership team that includes former Oracle executives, eAppSys focuses on cloud modernisation, AI-driven automation and agile digital transformation. The company cited Hyderabad’s skilled workforce, strong infrastructure and supportive government policies as crucial to its expansion, reinforcing the city’s status as an innovation hub in the Asia-Pacific region.
