Sridhar Babu Accuses KTR of Provoking Youth
He urged job aspirants to keep faith on Congress government, saying it was committed to providing them with a brighter future
Karimnagar: IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu on Sunday accused BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao of misleading and provoking unemployed youth for political gain.
Speaking to mediapersons in Karimnagar, the minister alleged that the BRS, which failed to conduct Group-I recruitment during its decade-long rule, was now attempting to create law and order problems by instigating job aspirants.
He said unemployed youth had already suffered because of delays in recruitment and warned that participation in protests leading to criminal cases could adversely affect their future.
Sridhar Babu said the last Group-I recruitment examination before Telangana's formation was conducted in 2011 in the then undivided Andhra Pradesh, and alleged that no Group-I recruitment was completed between 2011 and 2024. He questioned what explanation the BRS had for the prolonged delay and said the party should apologise to unemployed youth.
The minister said the Congress government had fulfilled the aspirations of job seekers by completing the recruitment of about 600 Group-I posts. He noted that candidates, including those now serving as municipal commissioners in Tandur, Vikarabad, Parigi and Jagtial, had secured appointments after waiting for nearly a decade.
Reiterating the Congress' election promise to fill two lakh vacancies, Sridhar Babu said the government was committed to completing recruitment to all vacant posts. Unlike the previous BRS government, which allegedly stalled recruitment whenever court cases were filed, the present government was continuing the process after addressing legal issues, he said.
Responding to Rama Rao's remarks on the Hyderabad Central Library, the minister said the BRS had no moral right to speak about unemployed youth. He urged job aspirants to keep faith on Congress government, saying it was committed to providing them with a brighter future.
On the implementation of the job calendar, Sridhar Babu said the government was consulting legal experts to address reservation-related issues before finalising the process, so that recruitment would proceed without legal complications.
