Special RTC Buses From Today For Holidays

The state government has declared Sankranti holidays for schools from January 10 to 16. Usually, families from Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts visit other parts in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh during the holidays.

NIZAMABAD: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) will run special buses for Sankranti holidays from January 9. Long-distance buses will run from Nizamabad from January 9 to 20. RTC officials said 500 buses are ready for the holiday travel. Interestingly, 1.5 per cent excess bus fares will be collected from the passengers.

Usually, families from Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts visit other parts in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh during the holidays. At the same time, natives of undivided Nizamabad district return home from Hyderabad, Bengaluru and other areas.

Occupancy ratio in RTC buses will increase for more than 10 days. Nizamabad-I, Nizamabad-II, Bodhan, Armoor, Kamareddy and Banswada depots will run the buses to various places. For the convenience of passengers, the TGSRTC set up www.tgsrtcbus.in and Gamyam App.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Nizamabad RTC regional manager T. Jyosna said that special buses will run from all depots to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. As per the demand from passengers, we will run special buses on separate routes, she said. There are 640 buses under Nizamabad region and 500 buses will be run for Sankranti, she said. Replying to a question, RM said that no special buses will be run to Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, RTC drivers, conductors and other staff are prepared to tackle the festival demand. Even if they don’t avail holidays, they will work round the clock. TGSRTC will get additional income during the Sankranti and the corporation higher officials are monitoring the situation
