SIR: Congress Seeks Details of Voters Marked for Deletion
The party has expressed worry over massive numbers of voters in the dock, by the time the enumeration phase came to an end on August 12.
Hyderabad: Expressing concern that more than 73 lakh voters will not find their names in the draft voter list and stand deleted, the Congress urged the CEO to share details of voters so that no genuine voter is disenfranchised.
In a representation submitted to CEO C. Sudarshan Reddy on Wednesday, TPCC Election Commission Coordination Committee urged him that all the voters’ details such as “uncollectable,” along with “anomalies” be provided to party BLAs so that they reverify the antecedents of the voters, while going house to house and educating them. “We will educate them to re-apply in form 6, if the genuine voter is in this deleted list,” said committee members.

A total of 45,18,961 - Permanently Shifted, 6,70,203 - Already Enrolled, 1,02,294 - Others, besides over 60 lakhs named as anomalies, were recorded during the phase. “These voters should not be removed without a deep examination and hence re-verification has been requested,” the committee added.
