SIR: Congress Focusing on Anomalies, ASDD
Party BLAs, DCC presidents told to protect genuine voters

ADILABAD: The Congress is focusing its attention on a high number of anomalies, ASDD (absent, shifted, deceased and duplicate) voters and uncollectable votes found during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in the erstwhile Adilabad district.
The party would instruct its BLAs and DCCs to ensure that genuine voters’ names are not deleted, by checking the draft voters lists after their publication and taking up such names for inclusion.
District in-charge minister Jupally Krishna Rao will review the situation and give directions to the party BLAs, coordinators and DCC presidents on how to avoid any loss of votes for the party in future polls, despite the SIR.
The meeting assumed importance in the wake of the election commission planning to publish the electoral draft on August 17.
Electors will be given an opportunity to apply for inclusion if they do not find their names of eligible voters in the SIR draft. They can also fill Form 8 for permanent shifting of their vote from one place/booth to another.

He said many BLOs and BLAs didn’t have full knowledge of the SIR process vis-à-vis collection of details of electors.
