SIO Survey Reveals Alarming State of Govt Schools

During a press briefing, SIO state secretary M.A. Taj reported nine major infrastructure and facility deficiencies.

Karimnagar: Members of the Student Islamic Organisation (SIO) in Karimnagar submitted a representation to district collector Pamela Satpathy on Friday, detailing the results of their annual survey of more than 30 government schools in the district. During a press briefing, SIO state secretary M.A. Taj reported nine major infrastructure and facility deficiencies. Seven schools lack sufficient classrooms, forcing students to sit on the floor. Four schools have no basic furniture, benches or chairs, so students must again sit on the ground. Approximately 95 per cent of schools have no water purifiers, compelling students to drink unhygienic, muddy water used for midday meals. Seven schools are operating with unfilled teaching positions. More than five schools have inadequate toilet facilities and around five schools lack proper playgrounds and sports equipment.

Taj said the full survey report has been submitted to both the district collector and the district education department. He urged authorities to take immediate action to ensure a safe, supportive learning environment for all government school students.
