Show-Cause Issued to 31 Officials in Jangaon

Warangal: Jangaon collector Rizwanbasha Shaik on Tuesday issued show-cause notices to 31 staff at government schools and welfare hostels for dereliction of duty and lack of discipline. The action followed surprise inspections by him of welfare hostels and gurukul schools on Monday.
The collector, during his inspections, scrutinised records, particularly of those who signed on the registers but were absent at the workplaces.
The inspection raised concerns among officials as the collector took serious note of the lapses in attendance and record-keeping. He decided to take action against those who were absent despite signing the registers.
Later, he gathered the whereabouts of the erring staff and the reasons for their absence. His inquiry revealed that several officials leave offices without approval. Show-cause notices were issued to 31 staff. The collector emphasised that every official in government departments must report for work by 10.30 am everyday. He clarified that personal work outside of office during office hours must be approved in advance. Failure to obtain permission and leaving work without prior notice will lead to disciplinary action, he warned.
Officials of various departments in Jangaon district were seen arriving at offices by 10.30 am on Tuesday and found sticking to offices until 5 pm.
