SHE Teams Visit Chakali Ailamma University To Carry Out Inquiry

HYDERABAD: East zone SHE teams visited Chakali Ailamma Mahila University in Koti for an inquiry after a complaint was filed by the students against mess in charge M Vinod for harassing them.
Members of the SHE teams quoting complaint filed by the students, said that their hostel mess in-charge M. Vinod has been accused of harassing them (students) for quite some time.
The victims’ statement was recorded by the members of the SHE teams and mess in-charge Vinod and two of his workers were detained for questioning at the Osmania University police station.
“We are pursuing the case on a top priority. A thorough investigation will be conducted based on evidence that we have collected and action will be taken as per the law,” R. Jayachander, sub-inspector of the OU police station, said.
On the other, Nerella Sharada, chairperson of the Women’s Commission, on Wednesday, made a surprise visit to the university. She interacted with the students and recorded victims’ statements. The women’s panel chief also assured that the commission will ensure security and safety of students and the culprits will be summoned for questioning if required.
