Shakambari Festival Begins at Bhadrakali Temple

Speaking on the occasion, Rajender Reddy said he felt privileged to inaugurate the festival. Referring to the dry spell in the region, he prayed for rainfall and expressed hope that the conditions would improve and people would be blessed with health and prosperity.

Warangal: Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy on Wednesday inaugurated the annual Shakambari Festival at the Sri Bhadrakali Temple by lighting the ceremonial lamp and offering prayers to the presiding deity.

He was accorded a Purna Kumbham welcome by the temple’s chief priests and trust members. Ritual honours were performed amid Vedic chants before he offered prayers at the shrines of Sri Mahaganapathi and Sri Anjaneya Swamy. He later performed special pujas to Goddess Bhadrakali and formally declared the festival open.

He appealed to devotees to cooperate with temple authorities for the smooth conduct of the festival and sought the continued blessings of Goddess Bhadrakali for the people of Telangana.

Assistant commissioner of the endowments department Sunitha, temple chief priest Sheshu, temple representatives, local leaders and devotees were present.
