Shahinayathgunj Inspector Balu Chouhan in ACB net for accepting bribe

Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) here on Friday arrested Shahinayathgunj Inspector L Balu Chouhan in old city for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000 from a complainant.
The ACB said Chouhan demanded Rs.50,000 from the complainant to delete his name as suspect in a missing case registered at Shahinayathgunj police station and not to harass him further. Chouhan initially demanded Rs.1.50 lakh as bribe and later reduced it to Rs.50,000.
The ACB officials said Chouhan was arrested as he performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly and produced before the special court for ACB cases after which the court remanded him to judicial custody.
In case of demand of bribe by any public servant, the public are requested to contact ACB’s toll-free number - 1064 for taking action as per law. The name and details of the victim or complainant will be kept secret, according to ACB.
