Shahbad Killings: Stalker's Rampage Leaves Differently-Abled Teen Orphaned

A request was made to the Ranga Reddy district Collector C Narayan Reddy to take necessary steps to ensure proper care of the girl

Hyderabad: The brutal killing of a minor girl along with her mother and grandmother by a stalker P Raj Kumar in Shahbad on Friday night shook the State. But the incident left the minor girl’s elder sister (19), who is differently-abled, orphaned and alone. The girl survived in the incident.

The minor girl and her mother and grandmother used to take care of the 19-year-old girl, who cannot walk properly. But the incident left her in a helpless situation raising questions as to who would take care of from now onwards.

The girl's relatives wept inconsolably seeing her pathetic situation at the house. “My niece became alone now after the murder incident. We are worried about her future,” her uncle Ch Naresh told Deccan Chronicle.

He blamed the Shahbad police for the incident. “We have been requesting the police to initiate stern action against the accused P Raj Kumar. But the Sub-Inspector Ramesh ignored it. In spite of questioning the reasons for the delay in taking action against Raj Kumar, Ramesh took it casually.

The Shahbad police did not question or detain the family members of Raj Kumar after registering a case against him. “We clearly informed Ramesh that Raj Kumar threatened to kill the girl and her family members but the SI did pay much attention to it,” Naresh.

He raised a strong suspicion that Raj Kumar was behind the death of the minor girl’s father a few months ago. It was Raj Kumar and his friends, who dropped the girl’s father at the house in an inebriated condition but he died a few minutes later.

Describing the murder incident, Naresh said Raj Kumar committed the crime brutally as blood stains were seen in the entire room. Naresh said a request was made to the Ranga Reddy district Collector C Narayan Reddy to take necessary steps to ensure proper care of the girl though the relatives rejected Rs.5 lakh ex-gratia announced by the administration.
