Hyderabad:The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) on Wednesday suspended the FSSAI licence of Shadab Hotel in Madina after inspections found expired and spoiled food, pest infestation, poor hygiene and other food safety violations. The management was ordered to shut operations immediately in the interest of public health.
Nine enforcement teams comprising food safety officers and police personnel inspected 19 cafes and snack points across the Core Urban Region as part of the TG SAFE drive, collecting 15 food samples on suspicion of adulteration.
Dreamz Cafeteria in Bagh Lingampally and Asiatic Cafe in Panjagutta were shut for operating without valid FSSAI licences or registrations.
Improvement notices were issued to 12 establishments — Cafe Persia, Bahar Biryani Cafe, Cafe Deccan, Honeymoon Cafe, Rio Restaurant, Aromale Hospitality, Friends and Cafe, Dimond Point Hotel, Hotel Imroz, Blue Sea Tea and Snacks, Nimra Cafe and Bakery, and Gulzar Foods (Persis Cafe).
Show-cause notices will also be issued to Golden Cafe, Dreams Cafeteria, Mirosa Cafe and Kitchen (Fyra Foods), Asiatic Cafe and Shadab Hotel.
Officials said follow-up inspections would be conducted to verify compliance, with further action based on the findings.
