SFI Calls Telangana College Bandh on Oct 30 Over Fee, Scholarship Delay
At a press meet held at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in Hyderabad, SFI state president S. Rajinikanth and secretary T. Nagaraju said nearly ₹8,000 crore had remained uncleared for over six years.

Hyderabad:The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) has called for a state-wide bandh of universities, degree and professional colleges on October 30, demanding the immediate release of long-pending fee reimbursements and scholarships.
At a press meet held at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in Hyderabad, SFI state president S. Rajinikanth and secretary T. Nagaraju said nearly ₹8,000 crore had remained uncleared for over six years. “The Congress government, now in power for 23 months, had promised to release at least ₹1,200 crore immediately, but not even that has been done,” they said.
They alleged that managements of private colleges are forcing students to pay reimbursable fees out of pocket, pushing many from SC, ST, BC and minority communities into debt. They demanded the government issue a guarantee order assuring colleges that pending amounts will be cleared and that students will not be penalised.
They also sought the release of arrears under the Best Available Scheme, diet and cosmetic charges, and post-matric scholarships. “The state’s education system is slipping into paralysis. If the government fails to release funds by the first week of November, we will launch a ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ protest,” warned SFI state vice-president K. Ashok Reddy.
