Seven Held, 25 Litres Of Hash Oil Seized

Police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar said five alleged peddlers and two consumers were taken into custody

City police and task force teams on Monday arrested seven persons in separate operations at Jubilee Hills and Erragadda and seized about 25 litres of hash oil valued at ₹3.12 crore.

Police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar said five alleged peddlers and two consumers were taken into custody in two major anti‑drug operations linked to an Odisha supply network.

In Erragadda, task force and Borabanda police arrested Lasangi Yakobu alias Venkat and Yendrapalli Suri Babu at a rented house and seized 23.706 litres of hash oil worth ₹2.96 crore along with two mobile phones. Yakobu, an auto driver from Andhra Pradesh, had earlier been arrested in a marijuana case in 2016 and was absconding in an NDPS case registered at Borabanda in 2025. The duo allegedly procured the oil from Odisha suppliers, brought it to Hyderabad by train and were preparing to transport it to Bengaluru when intercepted.

In Jubilee Hills, police arrested B. Chinnayya Padal, P. Bharath Kumar and Mohd Shoaib, and detained consumers B. Kalyan Teja and T. Uday Kumar at Road No. 10. Officers seized 1.250 litres of hash oil worth ₹16 lakh, 75 small containers and a bike. A suspect identified as Lobby, believed to be the main supplier from Odisha, is absconding.

Officials said Bharath Kumar and Shoaib repackaged the oil into small containers and sold it locally for profit. Bharath Kumar is reported to have previous involvement in 18 property offences, while Kalyan Teja has an earlier NDPS case.

Sarpanch dies by suicide in Nirmal district

Sarpanch Palle Jyoti of Bhorigaon village allegedly died by suicide at her home in Tanoor mandal of Nirmal district on Monday morning, police said.

Police rushed to the house after receiving information about the incident and shifted the body to the government hospital for a postmortem. A case has been registered, and police are investigating the death from all angles, including whether financial problems or family disputes, if any, led to the suicide.

Adilabad gang selling injections at inflated prices to drug addicts held

Adilabad police arrested three men for allegedly selling mephentermine injections illegally to drug users at inflated prices in Adilabad, police said on Monday.

Cases were registered against seven persons: RMP practitioner Sinde Jagannath, 50, of Shanthinagar Colony; Ramesh Goud of Jagadamba Pharmacy and Surgical near the RTC bus stand; Syed Kamaruddin of Get Well Medical near the old bus stand; Musharaf, who is in jail; Sameer; Irfan Khan; and Mukheed.

Police seized 190 insulin syringes and 50 vials of Termin, a brand of mephentermine sulphate injection, from the accused.

SP Akhil Mahajan said police intercepted Jagannath while he was riding a scooter during vehicle checks on the night of July 12. He was taken into custody after allegedly moving under suspicious circumstances. Police said Jagannath bought the injections at lower prices from medical agencies and hospitals and sold them to drug users. An injection priced at ₹390 was allegedly sold for ₹1,500.

The medicine is meant to be supplied only to doctors, but the gang allegedly sold it to drug users and persons with criminal backgrounds, police said.

Poachers kill 2 leopards in Nizamabad

Two leopards were allegedly killed by poachers in separate incidents in Nizamabad district over the past few months. One leopard was found dead in the Bheemgal forest area, while another was reported to have been killed in the Darpalli area.

Following information about the killing in Bheemgal, task force and forest officials conducted a joint search operation and recovered the carcass.

During the investigation, officials took some suspected poachers into custody and, on questioning, learnt about the killing of another leopard in Darpalli. Preliminary findings indicate that the poachers removed nails, skin and teeth from the animals and sold them.

Man sentenced for 10 years RI and `2000 fine in murder case

Judge G. Venu of the VI Metropolitan Sessions Court at Hyderabad on Monday sentenced a man for 10 years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ` 2000 after the accused has been found guilty in a murder for gain. The convict, Lingappa, a Karnataka native, was arrested in 2024 in a murder and theft case by the Government Railway Police (GRP)-Secunderabad. The case was investigated by railway police inspector B. Saieashwar Goud, said GRP DSP S.N. Jawed.


Interstate drug supply network busted; 50-gram MDMA seized
coordination with the special operations team arrested a Punjab-based alleged drug peddler and seized 50 grams of MDMA worth around `5 lakh from him. LB Nagar DCP B. Anuradha identified the accused as Atul Sharma of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab. Police also seized a keypad mobile phone and two SIM cards.”
The officer said the accused was intercepted near LB Nagar cross roads at around 10 am on Monday and recovered MDMA concealed inside his backpack. The DCP said Sharma came into contact with a man identified as Noman in Delhi, who allegedly procured MDMA from foreign nationals and later recruited Sharma to transport the drug to Hyderabad in return for money.
Meanwhile, the DCP said that the police teams have detected 56 NDPS Act cases this year, arrested 105 accused and seized 2.9 kg of opium, 278.461 kg of ganja, 2.125 litres of hashish oil and 284.3 grams of MDMA.

23-year-old electrician died; colleague injured in road mishap

A 23-year-old electrician, Shiva Sai Pawan, died and his colleague Uma Prasad sustained serious injuries after the motorcycle they were travelling on rammed into a concrete crash barrier on the Bachupally flyover. They were going from from Miyapur towards Pragathinagar.
Police said Pawan was riding the motorcycle at high speed and in a rash and negligent manner. On reaching the middle of the flyover, he reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into the concrete crash barrier on the left side. Pawan suffered a severe head injury and died on the spot. Prasad, a resident of HMT Colony, Miyapur, sustained bleeding injuries to his left shoulder, face and head. He was shifted to a private hospital in Bachupally for treatment.

Labourer died after RTC bus hits his motorcycle

A 35-year-old labourer died after an RTC bus hit his motorcycle from behind on the service road in Hayathnagar on Monday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Chowdaboyina Adinarayana, a resident of Suryanagar colony, Hayathnagar. He worked as a daily wage labourer and went to Autonagar for sand-loading work. The accident occurred while he was returning home. According to police, the RTC bus, which was being driven at high speed, hit Adinarayana’s motorcycle and the rear wheels of the bus ran over his head, killing him on the spot.

Teen dies by suicide after parents’ quarrel

A 15‑year‑old boy died by suicide in Rajivnagar after allegedly becoming distressed over frequent quarrels between his parents, Raidurgam police said. The teenager was a Class IX student at a government school in Gachibowli.

On Sunday night, his father returned home drunk and picked up another argument with his wife. When the boy tried to intervene, his father abused him. Upset, the boy left for his grandmother’s nearby house. A little later, his mother found him unresponsive. He was shifted to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police moved the body to Osmania General Hospital for post‑mortem and registered a case.

Contractor found dead in Rajivnagar

A 43‑year‑old contractor was found dead at his residence under Raidurgam police limits on Monday evening. According to the complaint lodged by his wife, Gollapula Saidamma, the body of Gollapula Saidulu of Vaddera Basti, Rajivnagar Colony, was discovered in a room of their house. Family members shifted him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under BNSS Section 194, which deals with inquiries into unnatural deaths.

Woman dies by suicide over alleged harassment by Singareni staffer

A young woman, G. Madhavi, allegedly died by suicide at Tekumatla village in Jaipur mandal of Mancherial district after being harassed in the name of love by Singareni employee Gona Venkatesh, police said on Monday.

A case was registered against Venkatesh following a complaint from Madhavi’s family.

Her relatives staged a protest outside the government hospital in Mancherial, where the body was shifted for a post-mortem, and demanded action against the accused.

The family alleged that Venkatesh and his relatives from Bhupalpally had approached them with a marriage proposal. They rejected it as the two belonged to different communities. Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the death.
