Hyderabad: Rains and Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations have become almost inseparable in the city. Hyderabad has been witnessing heavy rainfall since last night, leaving several areas inundated. Officials are working on a war footing to clear waterlogged roads and restore normal traffic movement.
Since 7 am, the intensity of rainfall has gradually decreased across North and Central Hyderabad, while the focus has now shifted towards East Hyderabad.

Massive thunderstorms were reported in areas including Qutbullapur, Balanagar, Alwal, Gajularamaram, Kukatpally, Gachibowli, Miyapur, Patancheru, Manikonda, Shaikpet, Ameerpet, Khairatabad, Jubilee Hills and Begumpet.
Dense fog was witnessed in the early hours across several parts of Hyderabad, including Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Panjagutta, Begumpet, Film Nagar, Madhapur, Manikonda, Shaikpet, Miyapur, LB Nagar, Dilsukhnagar, Koti, Abids, Lakdikapool, Nampally, Secunderabad, Nagole, Uppal and Hayathnagar.
Hyderabad Traffic police advised the commuters to exercise caution as rain may lead to waterlogging and slow-moving traffic at several locations.
