Senior IPS Officers Assume Charge As Heads of Newly Formed Future City

Future City, Malkajgiri and Yadadri get new leadership after reorganisation.

Hyderabad: In the backdrop of the state government’s recent reorganisation of police commissionerates, key senior IPS officers assumed charge of newly-formed jurisdictions on Tuesday.

Sudheer Babu formally took charge as the Commissioner of Police of the newly-created Future City Commissionerate. He is expected to focus on improving policing efficiency, technology-led supervision, and citizen-centric services to meet the emerging security needs of rapidly developing urban areas.

Meanwhile, Avinash Mahanty assumed office as the first Commissioner of Police of the newly established Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate. Soon after taking charge, he held a meeting with senior officers at the Commissionerate and emphasised that policing priorities would focus on public safety, crime prevention and strengthening community policing. He assured enhanced accessibility of police services to citizens while promising special focus on the safety of women, children and senior citizens. Efforts will be made to improve coordination across all divisions to maintain strong law and order, he said.

Akshansh Yadav too took charge as Superintendent of Police of the newly carved Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, which was earlier part of the Rachakonda Commissionerate limits. With the district now having an independent policing structure, he said more focused monitoring of crime, faster grievance response and improved police presence will be ensured.
