Seher Hashmi Campaigns for Mental Health Awareness in Adilabad
During the interaction, Hashmi shared her personal experience of mental trauma and said women were not inferior to men in any field and could demonstrate their talent and capabilities if given opportunities.

Adilabad: Delhi-based social activist Seher Hashmi, who is undertaking a national mental health advocacy campaign, ‘Beyond the Horizon: A Ride for Resilience’, reached Adilabad on Saturday and interacted with students at a private and a government degree college.
Hashmi began the campaign by riding a motorcycle with her team from Delhi to Kanyakumari on August 20. She is scheduled to return to Delhi after completing the tour.
During the interaction, Hashmi shared her personal experience of mental trauma and said women were not inferior to men in any field and could demonstrate their talent and capabilities if given opportunities.
She said there was a need to change traditional and orthodox views about women riding motorcycles and undertaking adventure tours. She said the campaign was intended to encourage women to pursue their goals.
Hashmi said she fulfilled her dream of riding a Royal Enfield motorcycle in 2024 after learning to ride in 2021. She said she had wanted to ride since she was in Class VI but could not do so due to health issues. She completed her first tour in 2025 and the present journey was her second, she said.
Seher Hashmi said, ‘She has taken up a nationwide campaign to create awareness among the people about mental health and also increase confidence among women and girl students’.
Collector Rajarshi Shah said, 'Mental health is very important in the present conditions, and people should not feel anxious about the future and should lead life with positive thinking by understanding the present conditions'.
District welfare officer Milka, campaign riders Paras, Amit Tyagi and Rajesh, and college principal Aitq Begam were present.
