Seethakka Opens Jowar Purchasing Centre

Seethakka also inaugurated an Indiramma model house in Dasnapur and opened an old age home established by the Thula Subhash Welfare Society

Adilabad: Rural development minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka on Saturday inaugurated a new jowar purchasing centre at the Gudihathnoor market yard, where Markfed will procure sorghum from farmers through Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS).

Addressing the gathering, Seethakka noted that Adilabad cultivates sorghum extensively and the state government had authorised procurement of 14 quintals per acre. “Currently, purchases are being made at 8.65 quintals per acre, and we will pay a minimum support price of ₹3,371 per quintal,” she said.

Earlier in the day at Indira Priyadarshini Stadium, the minister distributed tricycles and assistive devices to persons with disabilities. She then laid the foundation for a new bridge in Dhannur village, Boath mandal, and took part in the local Poshana nutrition programme. Seethakka also inaugurated an Indiramma model house in Dasnapur and opened an old age home established by the Thula Subhash Welfare Society.

Adilabad MP Godam Nagesh, MLA Payal Shankar, MLC Dande Vittal, collector Rajarshi Shah, SP Akhil Mahajan, and senior Congress leaders Thula Arun, Atram Sugana and Srikanth were among those present.
