Seethakka Offers Special Prayers for Floodwaters to Subside
The minister said that because of heavy rains in the upstream regions, the flood flow in the Godavari River is gradually increasing

Hyderabad: Minister for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Danasari Anasuya Seethakka on Saturday offered special prayers for Godavari floods to subside.
She visited the Godavari floodwaters at Mangapet and the rehabilitation center set up at the Zilla Parishad High School and later spoke with flood-affected residents. The Minister inspected the progress of Godavari embankment construction works at Mangapet and reviewed the facilities provided after relocating 112 people from 28 families in areas vulnerable to flooding due to backwater effect to rehabilitation centers.
The minister said that because of heavy rains in the upstream regions, the flood flow in the Godavari River is gradually increasing, and floodwaters may enter the river basin areas. She urged the people to remain alert and instructed officials to stay available to the public at all times and carry out relief operations effectively.
The Minister directed the officials concerned to ensure that flood victims staying in rehabilitation centers are provided with food, drinking water, medical services, sanitation facilities, and all other basic amenities.
After interacting with the victims, the minister instructed officials to ensure that all necessary facilities are made available to them. She assured that the government would take steps to construct permanent houses for flood victims. She said there was no need for people to worry and reassured them that the government would support them in every possible way.
