From a Tribal Hamlet to Rashtrapati Bhavan: The Inspiring Journey of Eflu PhD Scholar Ramavath Munilal

Hyderabad: An interaction with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan has become a milestone in the academic journey of Ramavath Munilal, an English and Foreign Languages University (Eflu) research scholar from a tribal background.

Munilal, a second-year PhD scholar in Media and Communication at Eflu, Hyderabad, participated in a meeting with President Murmu in New Delhi as part of programmes organised by the Union ministry of tribal affairs during the nationwide Janajatiya Garima Utsav and ‘Birsa Lives in New Bharat Week’ celebrations.

Munilal, who comes from a tribal hamlet, described the opportunity as both inspiring and transformative. Interacting with the President and meeting accomplished tribal scholars from different parts of the country strengthened his commitment to academic excellence and community development. He said initiatives taken by the tribal affairs played an important role in motivating students from tribal and marginalised communities to pursue higher education, leadership and public service.

According to Eflu, the experience “reinforced the importance of identity, representation and service,” while encouraging young tribal scholars to aim higher and contribute to the development of their communities and the country.
