Security Guard Gets 25 years RI in POCSO Case in Secunderabad
During investigation, the police collected necessary scientific, medical and documentary evidence and a charge sheet was filed before the court concerned after examining witnesses

Hyderabad: A local court in Nampally has sentenced a 44-year-old security guard to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) for sexually violating a minor girl in Secunderabad.
The court has also imposed a fine of Rs.20,000 on the accused, Arjun Kumar Jha alias Arjun Pandey, a security guard at a commercial complex in Secunderabad and native of Bihar.
The complainant said she along with her husband reside in the complex where Arjun was working as a security guard. The complainant said the accused forcibly took her minor daughter to the fourth floor of the commercial complex on October 26, 2024, assaulted her and committed rape.
On hearing the girl’s cries, the family and other residents in the complex rushed to the spot, rescued the victim and apprehended the accused. During investigation, the police collected necessary scientific, medical and documentary evidence and a charge sheet was filed before the court concerned after examining witnesses.
After detailed trial proceedings, XII Additional Sessions Judge, T. Anitha convicted the accused under the relevant provisions of BNS, POCSO Act and SC, ST Act and awarded 25 years of RI. The court announced a compensation of Rs.2 lakh to the victim.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, North Zone, S. Rashmi Perumal, said the conviction reflected the swift investigation, effective prosecution and commitment of Hyderabad police towards ensuring justice to victims of sexual offences, particularly minors.
