Hyderabad: SC and ST Commission chairman Bakki Venkataiah sought details of sanctioned, filled and vacant posts which reserved for SC/ST employees including those reserved for women. At a meeting on Friday, Venkataiah reviewed the backlog vacancies to be filled expeditiously through a special recruitment drive and pending compassionate appointments must be completed on a priority basis.
He said salaries for outsourced staff must be paid on time, and any outstanding ESI/EPF dues must be cleared and Insurance coverage must be provided to sanitation workers. Venkaitaiah added under under the SC/ST Special Development Fund (SDF) works must be executed without delay and without any diversion of funds.
Venkataiah suggested appointing eligible family members to replace sanitation workers aged over 60, issuing of Ayushman Bharat cards to public health workers, and strengthening monitoring mechanisms by establishing SC/ST committees. Commission members Konkati Lakshminarayana, Jilla Shankar, and Renikunta Praveen participated in the meeting.
