SCR to Run 22 Special Trains for Diwali, Chhath and Dasara Rush
The trains will connect major destinations including Tirupati, Nagarsol, and Santragachi with Secunderabad and other stations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: To handle the surge of festive season travel, the South Central Railway (SCR) has announced the operation of 22 special train services in September and October, covering Diwali, Chhath and Dussehra holidays.
According to a release from the Chief Public Relations Officer, the trains will connect major destinations including Tirupati, Nagarsol, and Santragachi with Secunderabad and other stations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Train Services and Routes
Secunderabad – Tirupati (07009/07010): 4 services on Thursdays, between September 4 and September 25. Key stops include Kacheguda, Mahbubnagar, Kurnool, Kadapa, and Renigunta. Coaches: First AC cum Second AC, 2AC, 3AC, Sleeper, and General Second Class.
Tirupati – Secunderabad (07055): 4 Friday services from September 5 to September 26 with similar en route halts.
Kacheguda – Nagarsol (07056): 4 services on Fridays, September 5 to September 26, halting at Secunderabad, Vikarabad, Bidar, Udgir, Parli Vaijnath, Parbhani, Aurangabad and other stations. Coaches: 1AC, 2AC, 3AC, Sleeper, and General.
Santragachi – Charlapalli (08845/08846): 6 services from September 19 to October 4, traversing through Odisha and coastal Andhra stations including Bhubaneswar, Vizianagaram, Rajahmundry and Vijayawada. Coaches: 3AC only.
Objective and Passenger Advice
SCR officials said the special trains are being deployed to ensure smoother travel during peak festive rush and to reduce passenger inconvenience. Travelers have been urged to book early and check availability at railway stations or online portals.
The Railways also appealed to passengers to follow safety guidelines, avoid overcrowding, and maintain hygiene while travelling, in line with its festive safety advisory.
