Hyderabad:South Central Railway reviewed operational safety across the zone at a meeting chaired by general manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava. He assessed the reports of safety inspections conducted by officers and supervisors during the month and emphasised maintenance of tracks and regular monitoring to ensure smooth train movements.

GM Srivastava directed officials to take precautions at stations and along sections to address challenges during the monsoon season, and reiterated the need for worksite protection and coordination among departments during safety works.

Srivastava said deficiencies identified during inspections must be rectified urgently to maintain train movement and passenger safety. He asked officers and supervisors to strengthen safety protocols in operations and focus on preventing cattle run-over incidents.

Divisions were instructed to identify vulnerable locations and implement preventive measures, including trenching and barricading, and to organise awareness programmes for villagers. Officials were also directed to conduct a special drive to ensure clear signal visibility for train crew.
