SCR Announces Introduction of New Express Trains Across Key Routes
Services to connect Tirupati, Kacheguda, Shirdi, Chennai, Nanded and other major destinations
Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) has announced the introduction of several new express train services during 2025 to improve connectivity across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and other states. The new services include weekly and daily express trains, while no new passenger or suburban services have been announced.
SCR Express Trains
Among the newly introduced SCR express trains are the Tirupati–Chikmagalur Weekly Express (Train No. 17423), which will commence service on July 17, 2025, operating on Thursdays, and its return service, Chikmagalur–Tirupati Weekly Express (Train No. 17424), starting July 18, operating on Fridays.
The Kacheguda–Bhagat Ki Kothi Daily Express (Train No. 17605) will be introduced from July 20, 2025, with its return service, Bhagat Ki Kothi–Kacheguda Daily Express (Train No. 17606), starting from July 22.
Additionally, the Tirupati–Shirdi Sai Nagar Weekly Express (Train No. 17425) will begin operations on December 14, 2025, running on Sundays, while the return service (Train No. 17426) will commence on December 15, operating on Mondays.
SCR has clarified that no new passenger or suburban train services are being introduced at present.
Other Railway Zone Express Trains
Several express trains from other railway zones will also operate through SCR jurisdiction. These include the Chennai Central–Bhagat Ki Kothi Express (Train No. 20625), running five days a week from May 5, 2025, except Wednesdays and Saturdays, and its return service (Train No. 20626), commencing May 7, except Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Weekly services include Firozpur Cantt–Nanded Express (Train No. 14622) from June 13, 2025, and Nanded–Firozpur Cantt Express (Train No. 14621) from June 15. The Gwalior–SMVT Bengaluru Express (Train No. 11086) will start on July 4, while its return service (Train No. 11085) will operate from June 29.
The Erode–Jogbani Amrit Bharat Express (Train No. 16601) will commence on September 25, 2025, with the return Jogbani–Erode service (Train No. 16602) starting September 28.
Amrit Bharat Express Services
Two new weekly Amrit Bharat Express trains have also been announced between Muzaffarpur and Charlapalli. The Muzaffarpur–Charlapalli service (Train No. 15293) will begin on October 14, 2025, operating on Tuesdays, while the Charlapalli–Muzaffarpur service (Train No. 15294) will commence on October 15, operating on Thursdays.
