SCPCR Lauds Bharosa’s Child Protection Efforts
38 POCSO convictions in 2025; commission praises victim-centric approach

Hyderabad: The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) on Tuesday reviewed the work of the Bharosa Centre in Hyderabad. Commission chairperson Seetha Dayakar Reddy and members interacted with the staff.
Officials informed the team that 38 convictions were secured in Pocso Act cases in Hyderabad city in 2025, one of the highest conviction rates compared to other states. The team also visited the Child-Friendly Court and reviewed child-centric procedures being followed.
The chairperson appreciated the infrastructure, systematic functioning and victim-centric approach of Bharosa, calling the initiative impactful and innovative. She said Bharosa’s best practices were recognised even in other states and assured full support from SCPCR, promising annual reviews of the centre.
A presentation was made by ACP, Women Safety Wing, highlighting the types of cases handled, challenges faced, best practices and achievements of Bharosa.
Dr P. Lavanya Naik Jadav, DCP, Women Safety Wing, congratulated SCPCR for its keen interest in Bharosa and reiterated the department’s commitment to strengthening child protection.
