School Bus Overturns into Canal in Khammam; 20 Students Injured
The accident took place on the outskirts of Ganeshpadu

Khammam: In a terrifying incident, a school bus carrying approximately 70 students lost control and plunged into a canal near Ganeshpadu in the Penuballi mandal of Khammam district.
The bus, belonging to Vivekananda Vidyalayam in Maddulagudem (Vemsur mandal), was transporting students back to their homes in Ganeshpadu, LS Banjar, KM Banjar, Marlakunta, and Muthugudem when the accident occurred.
According to local eyewitnesses, the accident took place on the outskirts of Ganeshpadu. They alleged that the driver was speeding, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle, resulting in the bus overturning into the canal.
Approximately 20 students sustained injuries in the crash. The VM Banjar police and parents of the students rushed to the scene to assist in rescue operations. The injured students were immediately shifted to private hospitals in Penuballi and Tiruvuru (NTR District, Andhra Pradesh) for treatment.
Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao made inquiries and spoke with the sub-collector and ACP, directing them to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured students.
