Investment secured at Davos to boost manufacturing and energy solutions in Telangana

Hyderabad: Schneider Electric India has announced an investment of Rs 623 crore to expand its existing manufacturing facilities in Hyderabad. The announcement marks yet another major investment secured by the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy-led ‘Telangana Rising’ delegation during the World Economic Forum 2026 annual meeting in Davos on Thursday.
The delegation held discussions with Deepak Sharma, CEO of Schneider Electric India, focusing on strengthening the company’s manufacturing footprint and advancing sustainable energy solutions in the state.
The proposed investment will be utilised to expand Schneider Electric’s facilities at Gagillapur and Shamshabad, aimed at enhancing production capacity for a range of electrical safety and control products. These include air circuit breakers, molded case circuit breakers, contactors, and push buttons, which are widely used across industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. The expansion is expected to improve supply capabilities and support the growing demand for reliable and energy-efficient electrical systems in India and global markets.
The meeting also deliberated on collaboration in energy transition and storage projects, with special focus on grid modernisation, energy efficiency and digital power management solutions. These initiatives are intended to support industrial parks, urban infrastructure, and smart city developments in Telangana, in tune with the state’s long-term vision of sustainable growth and technological leadership.
Highlighting the state’s industrial progress, Revanth Reddy said Telangana had emerged as one of the fastest-growing electronics manufacturing hubs in the country, with strengths in consumer electronics, telecom hardware, industrial electronics and advanced electronic systems. The discussions also explored the possibility of expanding smart factory capabilities and manufacturing capacity in areas such as energy management systems, industrial automation, and components related to electric mobility.
Schneider Electric India CEO Deepak Sharma noted that the company operates 38 development centres for skilling in Telangana. He said Schneider’s expertise in energy management, industrial automation, and digital transformation aligns closely with Telangana’s vision of becoming a leader in sustainable and technology-driven industrial development.
