Kishan Reddy affirmed that SCCL’s adherence to these policies ensures competitive access to coal and reinforces the state’s standing in India’s coal sector.

WARANGAL: Union minister of coal and mines G. Kishan Reddy today outlined Singareni Collieries Company Limited’s (SCCL) coal sale policies and the Central government’s role in ensuring transparency and economic growth in Telangana. Responding to a question from Warangal MP Kadiyam Kavya during the Lok Sabha session, he said that SCCL follows key Ministry of Coal frameworks: the SHAKTI Policy (2017, updated 2025), the Non Regulated Sector Linkage Auction Policy (2016, amended 2020), the New Coal Distribution Policy (2007, revised through 2022), and the Bridge Linkage Policy (2016).
“These policies promote fair trade, ease of doing business, and equitable coal allocation to industries, including MSMEs,” he explained. “The revised SHAKTI Policy now governs all new power sector coal linkages in line with market demand.” He added that these measures have enhanced transparency, spurred business activity, created jobs, and increased royalty and tax revenues, significantly benefiting Telangana’s economy. Kishan Reddy affirmed that SCCL’s adherence to these policies ensures competitive access to coal and reinforces the state’s standing in India’s coal sector.
