SC Dismisses Plea Against BRS MLA Kova Laxmi
Shyam Naik had earlier filed a petition in the High Court alleging that Kova Laxmi had provided incorrect information in her election affidavit.

ADILABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday quashed a petition filed by Congress candidate Shyam Naik challenging the election victory of BRS MLA Kova Laxmi from the Asifabad seat in the last elections. BRS cadre and leaders celebrated the verdict.
Shyam Naik had earlier filed a petition in the High Court alleging that Kova Laxmi had provided incorrect information in her election affidavit. The High Court dismissed the petition, after which Shyam Naik approached the Supreme Court.
Following the Supreme Court’s decision in favour of Kova Laxmi, BRS leaders celebrated by distributing sweets and bursting crackers.
Reacting to the verdict, Kova Laxmi said, “Justice has prevailed in this case, and once again it has been proved that leaders cannot defeat their opponents with false allegations.”
