Sankranti Rush Continues on Hyderabad-Vijayawada Highway
Vehicles are moving slowly at Pedakaparthi, Chityala, Kodad, and Ramapuram on the highway
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway continued to witness heavy rush for the third consecutive day on Monday with several people from Hyderabad heading to their native places in Andhra Pradesh to celebrate Sankranti festival.
Cars and other vehicles are moving slowly at the Pantangi toll plaza. Authorities have opened 10 toll booths for vehicles, which are going towards Vijayawada. Vehicles are moving slowly at Pedakaparthi, Chityala, Kodad, and Ramapuram.
The police officials deployed additional personnel at the places where the traffic was moving slowly to clear the festival rush. Many families started going to their native places from Saturday onwards as the State governments in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh declared holidays for educational institutions on account of the festival.
