Sanjay Jaju Asks Departments to Resolve Pending Railway Projects Issues Swiftly

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju asked the departments concerned to work in close coordination to resolve pending issues related to ongoing railway projects in the State at the earliest.
Chief Secretary held a review meeting on Monday at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat with South Central Railway General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, Special Chief Secretaries Vikas Raj, Naveen Mittal and other senior officials to review various issues concerning railway projects in Telangana.
The meeting discussed the progress of railway projects in the State, issues being faced in their implementation, land acquisition, administrative approvals required from various departments and the support to be extended by the State Government for timely execution of the projects.
The Chief Secretary emphasised that railway connectivity is crucial for the economic, industrial and regional development of Telangana. He directed the departmental officials and District Collectors to expedite the resolution of pending issues and ensure that the railway projects are completed within the stipulated timelines.
Officials informed the Chief Secretary that DPRs for 17 railway projects covering 2,023 km, with an estimated cost of Rs.50,870 crore, have been submitted to the Railway Board.
Special focus on pending issues
The meeting reviewed around 21 issues, including construction of railway underpasses and overbridges, approach roads, widening of roads, doubling of railway lines and improvement of public transport connectivity to Charlapalli Railway Station, among others.
He directed the senior officials of the departments concerned to undertake joint inspections along with South Central Railway officials and identify appropriate solutions for resolving the pending issues.
In accordance with the directions of the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the officials were directed to prepare appropriate plans for expansion of railway lines in the Future City, Outer Ring Road (ORR) and Regional Ring Road (RRR) areas.
He also instructed the officials of the Municipal Administration, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), Revenue, Energy, Roads & Buildings departments to work in close coordination to facilitate the implementation of railway projects.
The Chief Secretary emphasised that State Government departments and South Central Railway officials should maintain continuous coordination for the timely execution of the projects. He assured that the State Government would extend all necessary cooperation and support.
Mobilizing funds under PM Gati Shakti
The Chief Secretary directed the officials to prepare comprehensive Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) to secure funds under the PM Gati Shakti initiative of the Government of India. He also called for preparation of comprehensive DPRs for the expansion of MMTS, establishment of railway terminals in the ORR and RRR regions around Hyderabad keeping in view the future requirements of the city, and land acquisition required for future railway connectivity, including bullet train corridors.
He directed all departments to work in close coordination to accelerate the development of railway infrastructure essential for the State’s future growth and development.
