Sangareddy: TPCC Spokesperson Claims 22A Land Extent Reduced
Srirangam alleged that the previous BRS government had brought 22.93 lakh acres under 22A restrictions during its tenure.
Sangareddy: TPCC senior official spokesperson Satyam Srirangam claimed on Thursday that the extent of land under Section 22A of the Registration Act had been substantially reduced after the Congress government came to power.
Addressing a press conference in Sangareddy along with DCC president Nirmala Jagga Reddy, Srirangam alleged that the previous BRS government had brought 22.93 lakh acres under 22A restrictions during its tenure.
He said the extent was initially brought down to around seven lakh acres and was now about 3.75 lakh acres.
He accused BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and former minister T. Harish Rao of spreading misinformation by claiming that nearly one crore acres had been included in the prohibited list.
Srirangam said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was committed to resolving the problems faced by landowners.
Srirangam also alleged that BRS leaders had misused the Dharani land records system during their nine-and-a-half-year tenure and acquired assigned lands illegally by creating irregular pattas.
He said details of such lands would be made public.
He criticised the previous government over the state’s debt burden and alleged that the Kaleshwaram project had contributed to the financial crisis.
Despite the financial burden, the Congress government was implementing welfare and development programmes, he claimed.
Srirangam further alleged that the BJP and BRS had an understanding and claimed that it had helped eight BJP MPs win in Telangana.
TPCC spokesperson Topaji Anantha Kishan, Congress constituency in-charge Cheryala Anjaneyulu, CDC chairman Gadila Ram Reddy and other Congress leaders attended.
