Sajjanar Said Women Got Empowered With Free Travel in RTC Buses

Sajjanar said they have replaced 50 per cent of buses and introduced 3250 new buses in recent years and added that RTC was carrying ‘financial baggage’ and that needs to be mitigated

Adilabad: TSRTC MD V.C Sajjanar on Monday said RTC’s financial position has been improved with the introduction Mahalakshmi scheme by the state government and the scheme has proved to be a boon for the RTC. He said they were getting support from the state government and making efforts to resolve all the pending demands of the workers and staff in future.

He observed that women got empowered with free travel in the RTC buses, and each woman is saving Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 every month and the scheme has become more popular when compared to other transportation facilities in other states.

Speaking to media persons after inspecting the Adilabad bus depot, V.C. Sajjanar said the management of the RTC has paid PRC, DA to the workers and still a lot more needs to be done for the welfare of the RTC workers. He said they have set up a corporate hospital to give the best medical treatment to the workers.

He said they were unable to operate electric buses in all the places due to the lack of recharging facilities within the range and there is a facility of recharging now at Nizamabad.

Sajjanar interacted with the workers and inquired about the working conditions. Workers felicitated the Sajjannar who visited the Depot for the first time. Bhanuprasad, OSD to Sajjannar, Adilabad RTC Deputy Regional Manager (Operations) Sriharshah and Depot Manager G. Prathima Reddy were present.
