Sajjanar Highlights Citizen-Centric Reforms of City Police

HYDERABAD: City police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar announced that the police would soon provide professional driving training to 300 women police personnel to actively integrate them into patrols and Blue Colts duties. He was speaking at the Telangana Formation Day celebrations at the City Armed Reserve headquarters in Petlaburj on Tuesday.

Paying tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of statehood, Sajjanar highlighted the citizen-centric reforms, progressive initiatives and milestones achieved by the city police in line with the government’s public governance policies to ensure robust law and order and community participation. He also mentioned the comprehensive medical examinations conducted for nearly 20,000 personnel as well as the appointment of a health volunteer in every police station to continuously monitor medical assistance and lifestyle interventions.

He said that under ‘C-Mitra,’ a nation-first virtual police officer system. 1,130 ‘Zero FIRs’ and 380 cybercrime cases have been registered. ‘Cyber Simba’ volunteers are actively conducting door-to-door cyber awareness campaigns every Saturday.

The ‘AI Cop-Writer’ app has been deployed to ensure swift, systematic and efficient registration of complaints. Additionally, to bolster digital security and safeguard women and children, an AI-based app called ‘SOC-EYE’ is being utilised to constantly monitor online threats and malicious social media posts.

The ‘H-FAST’ wing registered 173 cases and seized approximately 95 tonnes of adulterated food products. Spandana emergency response teams were attending to an average of 30 complaints per day and overall 1,000 calls in all.

Furthermore, the Hyderabad narcotics enforcement wing has been heavily fortified to eradicate the drug menace, with the CP asserting that no offender will be spared regardless of their stature. Commissioner appealed to the citizens to actively partner in making Hyderabad a safe global city and urged them to report any information regarding drugs, food adulteration, or illicit activities by dialling ‘100.’
