RTC Passenger Dies During Bus Journey To NTPC

Razzaq had boarded a Karimnagar-2 depot bus travelling from Karimnagar to Godavarikhani and had taken a ticket to the NTPC stop

KARIMNAGAR: Abdul Razzaq, 55, of Sironcha in Maharashtra, was found dead in his seat on an RTC bus near the NTPC area of Godavarikhani in Peddapalli district on Wednesday, police said.

Razzaq had boarded a Karimnagar-2 depot bus travelling from Karimnagar to Godavarikhani and had taken a ticket to the NTPC stop. When the bus reached the stop, the conductor noticed that he had not got down.
The conductor checked on him and found him unconscious. He alerted the 108 emergency ambulance service. Medical staff who reached the bus station examined Razzaq and declared him dead.
Police identified him using an Aadhaar card found in his pocket. The body was shifted for post-mortem examination. Officials suspect Razzaq may have died of a heart attack or sunstroke during the journey. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.

Woman waiting for bus killed as SUV rams into stop

Challa Lakshmi, 38, died and two others were seriously injured after a speeding SUV rammed into them while they were waiting for a bus at Gaja Singavaram stage in Gambhiraopet mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district on Wednesday, police said.

Lakshmi was waiting to board a bus to Sircilla town for work when the vehicle, bearing a Maharashtra registration number, allegedly lost control and hit her, another woman and a boy standing nearby.

The injured were rushed to a private hospital in Yellareddypet. Lakshmi died while undergoing treatment, while the woman and the boy are in critical condition.

Local residents alerted police, who reached the spot. Lakshmi’s body was shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem examination. Police registered a case against the driver, who is absconding, and are investigating the cause of the crash.
