RTA, TGiCCC Data to be Linked
The real-time data synchronisation is expected to streamline the enforcement of workflow, it will also reduce manual verification process, as well as ensuring that all challans are issued based on up-to-date and authenticated information from the RTA database.

Hyderabad: Aiming at enhancing the real-time data accessibility for traffic enforcement, a crucial coordination meeting was convened, on Wednesday, at the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGiCCC) at Banjara Hills. The primary objective of the discussions was to integrate the database from the Road Transport Authority (RTA) with the TGiCCC system. This integration will enable the automatic retrieval and display of crucial vehicle-related details such as pollution under control (PUC) certificate and its validity, insurance status of the vehicle, and registration related information — directly to the TGiCCC system at the time of challan generation.
The real-time data synchronisation is expected to streamline the enforcement of workflow, it will also reduce manual verification process, as well as ensuring that all challans are issued based on up-to-date and authenticated information from the RTA database.
The meeting was convened by V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, director, TGiCCC, along with Surendra Mohan, commissioner of the transport department. The transport commissioner assured that a dedicated team would be deputed to facilitate the implementation of the proposed automated challan system. The meeting also focused on the effective implementation of the key features under the Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS). These included the automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system, public address system (PAS), and variable message display boards (VMBs).
A review of the technical specifications, including video analytics capabilities of the cameras currently utilised by TGiCCC, was also done at the meeting. In the meeting, it was also discussed that a dedicated technical team will be tasked with assessing the feasibility of integrating the RTA system with the existing infrastructure of the TGiCCC. Their evaluation will encompass system compatibility, data exchange protocols and technical requirements to ensure a seamless and effective integration. The meeting saw the participation of key officials, including Shiva Lingaiah, joint transport commissioner, Chandra Shekhar Goud, joint transport commissioner, as well as other RTA officials and technology experts.
