Rs 30 lakh to give facelift for Ambedkar junction in Vemulawada

Speaking at the event, Adi Srinivas said, “Unveiling the statue of a visionary like Dr Ambedkar is a proud moment. This was inspired by personal admiration for Ambedkar’s legacy.”

KARIMNAGAR: Reaffirming the Congress government's commitment to Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s ideals, Government Chief Whip and Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas on Monday inaugurated a newly installed bronze statue of the Dalit icon at Ambedkar Junction in Vemulawada town as part of a beautification project. The statue was unveiled on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, in the presence of Rajanna Sircilla District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha. The ₹30 lakh project aims to enhance the aesthetics and significance of the junction.

Speaking at the event, Adi Srinivas said, “Unveiling the statue of a visionary like Dr Ambedkar is a proud moment. This was inspired by personal admiration for Ambedkar’s legacy.” He called on the youth to uphold Ambedkar’s vision and reiterated that the Congress-led state government is committed to social justice through policy initiatives such as the 42 per cent BC reservation bill, Scheduled Caste categorisation, and the allocation of land and funds for an Ambedkar Bhavan in Vemulawada.

He further stated that Vemulawada’s development transcends political boundaries, with the historic Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple at the centre of several ongoing infrastructure works. He noted that ₹100 crore was allocated for temple development in the latest budget, following an earlier ₹50 crore provision.

Highlighting recent initiatives, the MLA said tenders have been finalised for a ₹35 crore Annadanam Hall (community dining hall), and that road-widening works and a new vegetable market complex with ₹80 lakh funding are underway along the second bypass road.
