Rs 108 Cr Okayed For Dr B.R. Ambedkar Knowledge Tower
The proposed building will have one cellar, a ground floor and 10 floors. Officials decided to construct a new structure after the Roads and Buildings Department found the existing G+1 building old and dilapidated.

Hyderabad: Telangana government has sanctioned Rs 108 crore for the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Knowledge Tower at Lower Tank Bund which will replace the old Ambedkar Bhavan, which has reportedly remained unused for nearly twelve years.
The proposed building will have one cellar, a ground floor and 10 floors. Officials decided to construct a new structure after the Roads and Buildings Department found the existing G+1 building old and dilapidated.
The Scheduled Castes Development Department submitted a revised proposal based on that assessment. The government has provided Rs 25 crore for the project in the 2026-27 Budget.
An architectural and structural consultant will be appointed to finalise the plans, elevations and other technical requirements.
Welfare minister Adluri Lakshman Kumar said the government was committed to “creating better opportunities for SC students and youth”. He further added that under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s leadership, priority was being given to education, employment, social development and empowerment of people belonging to Scheduled Caste.
