Rowdy-Sheeter Attacks Man With Knife in Mailardevpally
The motive for the attack is believed to be linked to ego and habitual rowdy behaviour

HYDERABAD: A man was seriously injured after a rowdy-sheeter attacked him with a knife at a restaurant in Mailardevpally, on Wednesday night.
According to the Mailardevpally police, local residents alerted the police after the victim, Mohd Jameel, 25, was assaulted. The incident occurred while he was seated at a restaurant. Before police reached the spot, the injured man was shifted by locals to a government hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Doctors have informed the police that the victim’s condition is stable, though his health will be closely monitored for at least 24 hours.
Police identified the accused, Sohail, whose rowdy-sheet was first opened in 2011. The accused has six criminal cases against him, including three cases of attempt to murder, one murder case and other offences. The rowdy sheet was initially opened at the Mailardevpally police station and was later transferred to Balapur police station after the accused moved to Shaheennagar colony.
Investigators said the accused and the victim were known to each other. The motive for the attack is believed to be linked to ego and habitual rowdy behaviour.
Police said similar offences involving the accused had occurred in the past. The accused has been taken into police custody.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS for attempted murder. Further investigation is underway.
